After his voluntary confinement at the asylum in Saint-Remy, Van Gogh moved to a small village north of Paris called Auvers-sur-Oise. During this period, Vincent would be put in the care of Dr. Paul Gachet. The works Vincent produced in Auvers would pose more questions than they would answer as it appeared Van Gogh's style might be moving in a new direction. Vincent was at Auvers for only 3 months before committing suicide in July, 1890.
