Standing 28 inches tall the piece is modeled after a Ming dynasty display stand. Handcrafted by artisans in Guangdong province in mainland China, the piece employs classic Chinese mortise and tenon floating panel joinery. The piece is topped off with a light rosewood finish.

The Story Behind the Product

This factory is located in the Guangdong region of mainland China and run by a wonderful family that we here at have befriended over the course of several years. The father is the main person in charge and employs many family members. Day to day operations are run by an aunt while the son is being groomed to take over once his father retires - all of this family greatly adds to the quality and productivity of this factory. Over 300 skilled and non-skilled craftsman work together, passing knowledge and craftsmanship from generation to generation. The working conditions of this group are excellent. The workers always seem to be smiling and are often excited to have new visitors. The factory provides an excellent lunch each day for the staff (my stomach can attest to this), the workers' clothes are clean and the environment seems organized and well run.
