Artisan story:

Vikas Baid was born and brought up in the Kolkota, west Bengal in India. He used to visit the state of Rajasthan during every summer vacations of his school. He was very influenced to see the rich heritage of arts and crafts in Rajasthan. This gave him opportunity to come in contact with the various artisans from the Rajasthan and he started learning this art. Most of the craftsmen 'into this art' have the only means of earning their livelihood is this art. They make money by selling this items. After completing his graduation in commerce, Vikas took initiative to take this art to the world and started selling these items in exhibitions. These jewelry boxes are used in India in every home since very old time as chest to keep the jewelry. Jewelry is family asset in India and every woman has her own personal bridal jewelry sets.
