Story Behind the Art

The SheHuo festival, or fire festival, is one of the oldest Chinese customs having few thousand years of history. It is a dance ancient Chinese used to worship and pray for peace and prosperity. The dancers? faces are painted with vivid colors and play out folklore or heroine story. ShaanXi providence is the home of SheHuo festival, located in the very heart of China. Inspired by this ancient festival, local artist created the fire festival masks replicate the dancers' face.
