Story Behind the Art:

Pottery of this type is made in Safi, Morocco, a fishing town on the Atlantic coast of Morocco. Safi is known as one of the centers for this art and utilizes red clay to create the ceramic pottery. Clay is softened by hand, and formed using a potter's wheel which is powered by foot, using age old techniques. Pieces are dried in the sun then baked in kilns that are over 200 years old. All items are hand etched and painted.

The handcrafted nature of this product will produce minor differences in design and sizing. Subtle variations will occur from piece to piece, adding to its unique qualities. Measurements may vary slightly.
