Isfahan designers have been influenced by the motifs of ceramic works and historical buildings such as Chehel-Sotun Palace, Madrassa Chahar-Bagh Madare Shah, and the Mosque of Sheikh Lotfollah.. Rugs from Isfahan feature a variety of fascinating themes such as palmate floral designs, gardens full of animals and intricate medallions.
