Story Behind the Bag

Cassia do Nascimiento is the youngest artisan of the state of Minas Gerais; her patchwork handbags were chosen to be part of the first state-wide catalog of handcrafts of the state. She lives in a small village along the old gold trail that Portugal (when Brazil was a colony) used to take the gold to port. Because of her father's health condition, she provides part of the income of her family.
