Story Behind the Art

Jamawar shawls have been one of the most refined elements of Kashmiri art. Over the years these shawls have been simplified and the technique has moved from embroidered jamawars to woven jamawars. These throws are an example of the later. They are woven on looms creating the same exquisite paisley patterns as the originals.
