Story Behind The Art

Kikoys are made from 100-percent cotton grown in East Africa and spun in Kenya. Artisan women in Zimbabwe work on these projects because it allows them to accomplish tasks from home and helps them earn income to support their families. Kikoy was originally just a traditional men's garment and has since evolved. Now, these artisans are using it to create garments, lamps, journals and other vibrant household items.
