Story Behind the Product:

Artisans who create Moroccan mosaics are predominantly male. They range in age from teenagers to men in their 60's. Mosaics are created in Marrakech, Morroco. Marrakech is one of the larger cities in Morocco. Marrakech is a beautiful city full of palm trees, sunshine and plenty of European tourists. It is one of the most progressive cities in Morocco, one of the Kingdom's five Imperial cities. Mosaics are created using an ancient technique known as 'Zellige'. Zellige use hand crafted ceramic tiles which are hand cut and intricately placed in geometric designs to create this art. Zellige is not only beautiful, but is an important part of Muslim art as the repeating geometric patterns are symbolic of the unity of man.

The handcrafted nature of this product will produce minor differences in design and sizing. Subtle variations will occur from piece to piece, adding to its unique qualities. Measurements may vary slightly.
