The Story Behind the Art

Sarouk is a small village in central Iran known for geometric patterns of the knotted rugs. These are called Sarough or Sarouk rugs. The carpets are made using high quality wool in workshop as well as household looms. The traditional rug has herati and boteh patterns all over or in the medallion layout. The medallion can be of almost any geometric shape. Most famous of all is a medallion and corner layout.

The handcrafted nature of this product will produce minor differences in design, weight, and sizing. Subtle variations will occur from piece to piece, adding to its unique qualities. Measurements may vary slightly.
