The artisans who make these rugs come from a long lineage of weavers, dye-makers, and block-printers and this art has been practiced for many centuries in this region of India. The rugs are 100-percent cotton, hand-woven on pitlooms in Southern India. The printing is done with wooden blocks that are intricately carved with the motif for each design, and a different block is used for each color. After each color is printed, the rugs are washed to set the dye, and then dried in the sun.



The handcrafted nature of this product will produce minor differences in design and sizing. Subtle variations will occur from piece to piece, adding to its unique qualities. Measurements may vary slightly.
