The Story Behind the Art

Over the past few decades Native American artists and craftspeople have been facing an increasing struggle to maintain their values and traditions through their crafts and artistry due to the tremendous influx of cheap imitations made both in and out of the United States by non-native people. As a result of this the Federal government passed a 'truth in advertising law' in 1990 known as The Indian Arts and Crafts Law that prohibited misrepresentation in the marketing of Native American arts and crafts. It stated that Native American arts and crafts must be authenticated and that any imitations must be referred to in language that indicates that fact. These peace pipes are 100-percent Native-American-made and comes with a Certificate of Authenticity.

The handcrafted nature of this product will produce minor differences in design, weight, and sizing. Subtle variations will occur from piece to piece, adding to its unique qualities. Measurements may vary slightly.
