The Story Behind the Spoon

More than 30 women from Sakila Village in Tanzania, East Africa whose husbands have died from the AIDS virus have formed a small group that creates pieces such as these spoons so that they may support themselves and their family. These women are the only support for their families due to the devastation of AIDS virus. This spoon is certified fair traded where monies paid for the product went directly to the women.

The handcrafted nature of this product will produce minor differences in design and sizing. Subtle variations will occur from piece to piece, adding to its unique qualities. Measurements may vary slightly.
